In the past, data center operator have focused on one goal: “Uptime”. While this will always be the objective for our data center, the last several years have seen a rising interest in the “Greening” of data centers through implementing operational changes and infrastructure upgrades to decrease the carbon footprint of facilities.

All White City’s customers will be able to take advantage of truly redundant power with our unique power infrastructure. Two separate feeds from our utility company, Com Ed feed into White City’s facility from the substation. Each power feed is routed through a separate bank of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units and backed by diesel generators.

Power is fully conditioned by the UPS units to ensure that the power delivered to your collocated or hosted equipment is clean and free of defects. This protects you from "brownouts" and surges that sometimes occur with standard commercial power that can cause damage to sensitive electronic equipment.

Our facility is equipped with two separate UPS power systems, each offering N+1 redundancy. UPS systems are fed from diverse sources to prevent complete loss of critical power.

Many times the ability for a data center to provide adequate cooling and humidity to equipment is overlooked. White City has spent significant money to ensure that your business is protected. Our collocation and managed hosting facilities are built with redundant cooling units. Multiple redundant cooling systems are designed to reliably protect customer equipment from the damaging impact that heat can produce.

Redundant cooling units offer ample cooling and power. Coupled with redundant pump systems that ensure reliable delivery of glycol to data center CRAC units, the system will be capable of cooling up data center loads at N+1 redundancy at final load.

White City supplies IP bandwidth and local loop connections from diverse, redundant Cisco Catalyst 6500 series access switches. These access switches are connected to dual, redundant core switches, which are in turn connected to edge routers. All networking equipment is supported by vendor maintenance contracts and backed up by on-site spares.

At each of our data centers, your environment can leverage our blended IP network consisting of multi-gigabit connections through diverse IP providers. The integrity of White City’s customer’s infrastructure is one of our primary concerns. We have taken steps to ensure that access is limited to data center and sensitive areas. Our attention to security is one of the fundamentals of our Network Operation Center (NOC) and facilities personnel perform regular, thorough walkthroughs of the entire facility. The walkthroughs cover areas such as the data center space and vital operations areas. During this time, the NOC staff confirms that all security measures are intact and that there are no operational abnormalities.
